Throughout this semester I have learned a wealth of information, including many tools that make life as a teacher much easier. One tool I have found to be extremely helpful is Google. Sure, we have all heard of Google, in fact, in today’s age it is more of a verb. For example, “I googled it”. While at first glance this site seems like merely a search engine it actually has many tools that make cooperative learning go much more smoothly. Documents, spreadsheets, questionnaires, and presentations can all be created and edited by a variety of people as long as they possess the proper link.
Another site I quickly fell in love with was Zapd. We used this site to create a plethora of information about the best places to live within the United States. Essentially, Zapd allows its users to create quick, easy, and attractive sites for FREE! Sounds too good to be true but this site could be used as a great tool for cooperative learning, homework assignments, and class updates for students that missed class. It’s a simple easy way to share data.
My last technology love is iMovie. While it seems most people have used this tool, I had not. I had always been a P.C. girl, but after using iMovie on various class projects I realized how simple it was to create entertaining presentations in a very short about of time. Not only are they entertaining, but they look professional and well put together. I loved using iMovie and will continue to utilize this resource.
